About the Role
The Workshop Foreman is responsible for overseeing both the workshop and wash bay, ensuring all repair and maintenance work on tautliner and tipper trailers meets required standards while maintaining a clean and safe environment. This role exists to provide leadership and guidance to employees in the workshop and wash bay, manage work orders, and conduct repairs and maintenance on trailers and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2 years or more workshop experience within a transport or logistics environment
- Ensure 2 years of experience on tautliner or tipper trailers
- Oversee employees in the workshop and wash bay including recruitment, orientation, training, and scheduling
- Manage work orders and enter job card information into the database while maintaining accurate work records
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on trailers and machinery or arrange for necessary equipment servicing
- Review completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and deadlines
- Enforce health and safety policies and ensure the site is free of hazardous materials
- Order supplies and operate workshop machinery and heavy equipment when required
- Inspect the workshop, wash bay, and equipment regularly to ensure they are organized and clean
Requirements
- Reside within a 15-20 km radius of Klerksoord, Pretoria North
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- Qualified mechanic or similar qualification
- Minimum 2 years experience in a transport or logistics workshop
- Minimum 2 years experience specifically with tautliner and side tipper trailers
