Job Description
Join a JSE-listed insurance company as an Underwriting Administrator to support the underwriting team in Personal and Commercial Lines in Short-term insurance. Assist with policy management, compliance, and provide administrative support to enhance operations. Ideal candidates must have strong academic credentials and communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
• A-grade average in Matric (maths)
• BA, BSc or BCom degree
• Bilingual in Afrikaans and English
• Excellent academic record
• Strong mathematical skills
• RE5 certification
• 2+ years admin experience in short-term insurance
• Experience in an underwriting department
• Proficient in insurance management systems and MS Office
• Strong knowledge of commercial and personal lines
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Team player
Duties:
Policy Administration
• Support underwriters with administrative tasks
• Process new policies, renewals, and cancellations
• Review applications for compliance
• Maintain policy records
Data Management
• Enter client and policy info accurately
• Gather documentation for underwriting reviews
• Keep records of policy changes and communications
Customer Service
• Communicate with brokers, agents, and clients
• Respond to inquiries about policies
• Follow up on outstanding documentation
Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure documentation meets standards
• Prepare and submit underwriting reports
• Monitor adherence to underwriting standards
