About the Role
The Commercial Manager (agro-chemicals) will be responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion for our client’s chemicals and fertilizers portfolio in Africa. With a strong focus on innovation, technical expertise, and customer partnerships, this role combines strategic planning, market development, and team leadership to achieve ambitious targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies, marketing plans, and forecasts to achieve revenue targets
- Define product positioning and pricing strategies to maximize market share
- Identify new business opportunities and expand into new markets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to stay ahead
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the category
- Drive sales performance through KPIs, coaching, and team leadership
- Plan and execute high-impact sales campaigns
- Collaborate with agronomists and cross-functional teams to align on strategy
Requirements
- BSc in Agriculture or a related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in chemicals & fertilizers sales (essential)
- At least 3 years in a commercial or managerial role
- Strong understanding of agronomy (advantageous)
- Experience in Africa or emerging markets (preferred)
