Emergency Response Logistics Controller

Are you able to stay calm under pressure, think quickly and coordinate effectively during emergency situations? We are looking for an Emergency Response Logistics Controller to join a fast-paced operations environment within the logistics and delivery sector.

This role is focused on rapid response planning, communication, coordination and operational support during emergencies, ensuring smooth service delivery and effective resource management across the network.

Key Responsibilities:

Emergency Response & Coordination

  • Assist with emergency response planning and execution
  • Coordinate resources and communication during incidents and disruptions
  • Monitor and report on emergency response activities
  • Escalate critical incidents to relevant decision-makers
  • Support training simulations and emergency preparedness initiatives
  • Gather feedback and assist with continuous improvement processes

Asset & Fleet Monitoring

  • Monitor assets equipped with tracking devices
  • Engage with drivers regarding alerts and operational risks
  • Identify repeat operational concerns and escalate accordingly
  • Report defective tracking units to the fleet department

Communication & Reporting

  • Act as a key point of contact between operational teams, management and service providers
  • Provide accurate updates and reports during emergency situations
  • Assist with post-incident reporting and debriefing
  • Support communication processes to ensure clear and accurate information sharing

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and safety procedures
  • Maintain accurate records for reporting and audit purposes
  • Promote health, safety and operational compliance within the network

Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
  • Diploma in Business Administration or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years experience within a contact centre, helpdesk or similar operational environment
  • Exposure to logistics, supply chain or order fulfilment environments advantageous
  • Understanding of emergency response procedures and protocols
  • Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
