About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Executive Chef to join our luxury safari camp in the heart of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating unforgettable dining experiences that showcase your creativity and passion for fine cuisine. This is a guest-facing role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of 1215 kitchen staff
- Develop and implement menus that showcase local ingredients and international flavors
- Oversee kitchen operations, stock, and controls to ensure efficient service delivery
- Manage inventory and ordering processes to minimize waste and maximize profitability
- Collaborate with the camp’s management team to develop and implement culinary strategies
- Provide exceptional customer service and create memorable dining experiences for our guests
Requirements
- Strong luxury hospitality experience in a high-end kitchen environment
- Hands-on approach in the kitchen with a focus on quality and presentation
- Confident in a guest-facing role with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven leadership and management skills, including team management and conflict resolution
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment with multiple priorities
Qualifications
- Formal education or certification in culinary arts (e.g. diploma or degree)
Salary & Benefits
- $3,500 – $4,000 nett per month
- Live-in accommodation at the luxury safari camp
