About the Role

PBT Group is seeking a skilled and business-focused Finance BI Analyst & Power BI Report Developer to join a dynamic data and analytics environment supporting finance reporting and decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with finance stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document reporting requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications and reporting solutions.
  • Support reporting areas including:
  • Management reporting
  • Budget vs Actual analysis
  • Revenue and profitability reporting
  • Cost analysis
  • Customer and supplier reporting
  • Inventory and working capital reporting
  • Facilitate workshops and requirement gathering sessions.
  • Document KPIs, business definitions, calculations, and reporting logic.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Build and maintain efficient data models using best-practice modelling techniques.
  • Develop DAX measures, calculations, and calculated columns.
  • Use Power Query for data transformation and ETL-related activities.
  • Implement interactive visualisations and reporting functionality.
  • Optimise report performance, refresh times, and usability.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance checks.
  • Maintain report documentation, metadata, and data lineage.
  • Apply governance standards, version control, and documentation practices.
  • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and workspace governance where required.
  • Work closely with data engineering, BI, and business teams.
  • Provide user support and troubleshooting for reporting issues.
  • Conduct report walkthroughs, user training, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the BI environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in:
  • Business Intelligence
  • Power BI Development
  • Business Analysis
  • Data Analytics / Reporting
  • Strong Power BI experience including:
  • Data modelling
  • DAX
  • Power Query
  • Dashboard development
  • Strong SQL querying and data manipulation skills.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Understanding of:
  • Star schema / snowflake schema modelling
  • Data visualisation best practices
  • ETL and data warehousing concepts
  • Ability to translate business requirements into reporting solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
