About the Role
We’re looking for a talented Senior Cloud Software Engineer to design, build and operate scalable, cloud-native systems on AWS. You’ll play a key role in shaping modern digital connectivity products used by millions of customers, including airtime, data, rewards and smartphone journeys.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and operate scalable cloud-native systems on AWS
- Architect modern, reusable services aligned to AWS Well-Architected principles
- Develop and maintain event-driven, microservices-based architectures
- Deliver simple, elegant solutions powering digital connectivity products
- Optimise databases and APIs for performance, reliability, and scalability
- Collaborate with product, QA, and platform teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
- Contribute to the design and delivery of new products used by millions of clients
Requirements
- Strong experience in backend software development (Java, Node.js, Python, etc.)
- Proven experience working with AWS cloud services
- Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems
- Experience building event-driven architectures
- Strong API design and database optimisation skills (SQL/NoSQL)
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and cloud infrastructure
- Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills
