Job Description

Title: Maintenance Foreman/General Engineering Supervisor Location: Angola (Expat) Requirements: Minimum: N6 plus/or trade test through a recognised Institution plus Code 8. Desired: As above, plus government ticket plus ECSA Professional registration. Thorough knowledge of diamond plants and DMS and Recovery circuits. Auditing skills. In-depth understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the mining and processing sector. Minimum: 5 years DMS and Recovery or separation technology environment experience of which at least 3 years on a senior management level. Desired: 8 years DMS and Recovery or separation technology environment experience of which at least 5 years will be on senior management level. Responsibilities: Coordinate the artisans to ensure maintenance and safety targets are achieved on time and within budget. Coordinate the planning, scheduling and implementation of budgeted projects within area of responsibility. Be responsible for the safe installation and the proper operation, running and maintenance of all machinery; be responsible for the safe erection and proper maintenance of all buildings, structures and tanks. Ensure timely sourcing and delivery of equipment and services for the operations. Ensuring that materials, supplies and services are procured for the execution of the operations at the most competitive prices and are of the required quality. Ensure all safety appliances, mechanisms and guards are maintained in good condition; the provisions of the regulations relating to machinery are fully complied with; and the work of any apparatus or machine, the use of which may constitute a danger to any person, is stopped. Conduct audits when required to ensure compliance to the MHSA, Company COP’s and procedures. Ensure the asset register remain up to date and optimizing the maintenance schedules to ensure legal compliance and to ensure target availability of equipment. Required to work overtime, do standby and be available for call-outs should the need arise. Oversee and manage the maintenance department to ensure optimum machine availability. Effective utilisation of the plant preventative maintenance program (Fiix) for both equipment and tooling used for production. Compliance with applicable statutory requirements and related Client policies/procedures. Ensure that tooling used is in good working conditions at all times and liaise with production / technical teams to ensure tooling preparation is completed timeously and in line with production schedule. Installation of plant machinery and equipment as and when required. Manage, oversee and support subordinates in carrying out daily tasks. Submit and motivate capital/strategic expenses to the Engineering Superintendent. Ensure discipline is maintained in the work area (absenteeism, time management, overtime, misconduct (etc.) Comply with safety, health, security and environmental standards. Manage workplace climate.
