About the Role
As a Pool Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall health and functionality of swimming pools, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for clients. This role requires a strong understanding of pool mechanics, chemistry, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Test water for pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and calcium hardness, adding necessary chemicals to maintain proper balance.
- Skim debris, vacuum pool surfaces, scrub tiles, and empty skimmer baskets.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install pool pumps, filters, heaters, chlorinators, and valves.
- Fix pipe leaks, replace underwater light fittings, and patch minor cracks.
- Log chemical readings, treatments, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Address client queries, provide maintenance advice, and resolve pool-related complaints.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a foundational understanding of plumbing and electrical systems.
- In-depth understanding of pool chemicals, safe handling, and water circulation dynamics.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, perform heavy lifting, and handle repetitive bending and kneeling.
- Certified Pool & Spa Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator certification an advantage.
