About the Role
The Department of Construction Management at Nelson Mandela University seeks a Professor of Construction Management to lead the discipline and profession on the African continent. As a dynamic African university, we aim to maintain our position as the leader in cutting-edge knowledge for a sustainable future. The successful candidate will facilitate teaching and learning, research supervision, and scholarly leadership in Construction Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate teaching and learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Perform administration and other academic-related functions
- Take responsibility for identified academic modules in the BSc and BSc (Honours) Construction Management programme
- Undertake subject development
- Support and develop a new generation of scholars within and beyond Social Sciences research
- Engage across the University to embed better construction management practices in project delivery
- Capacitate students, local communities, and practitioners in understanding the impact of construction industry policy
Requirements
- An appropriate doctoral qualification in Construction Management
- Possess 6-10 years of higher education experience as a Professor and additional 2 years at the Associate Professor level, with at least 5 years in Construction Management
- Skilled in postgraduate teaching and supervision
- Demonstrable record of research publications in accredited international and national publications
