About the Role
A leading automotive manufacturing company is seeking two experienced Toolmakers to join its team. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing production tooling to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and service production tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Set up and operate conventional lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD files for tooling components.
- Conduct measurements and inspections using precision instruments, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMMs.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve defects.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to meet operational requirements.
- Modify and improve tooling to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Maintain accurate records of tool maintenance, repairs, and usage.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards at all times.
Requirements
Relevant Trade Qualification in Toolmaking, Precision Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a Toolmaker role within a manufacturing environment. Experience maintaining and repairing production tooling. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical and engineering drawings. Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments. Good computer literacy. Strong communication and time management skills. Ability to work shifts and overtime when required.
