About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Field Guide to join the guiding team at our exclusive luxury reserve in the Kalahari Region of South Africa. As a Field Guide, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in an unspoiled wilderness environment, providing exceptional safari experiences to discerning guests from across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver world-class guided game drives and walking safaris, ensuring a safe, educational, and memorable experience for guests.
  • Share extensive knowledge of the natural environment, wildlife behaviour, conservation, and local culture with guests.
  • Host and interact with guests to create an engaging and personalised safari experience.
  • Conduct pre-drive briefings and post-drive debriefs, maintaining professional guest communication at all times.
  • Maintain safari vehicles, equipment, and rifles in pristine condition.
  • Uphold lodge and reserve conservation principles, safety standards, and guiding protocols.
  • Assist in lodge activities as required, working as part of the wider hospitality team.

Requirements

  • FGASA NQF4 (or higher) with up-to-date membership
  • Valid PDP Rifle Competency (current, valid documentation)
  • Trails Qualification Lead Trails preferred, but candidates close to achieving Lead Trails will be considered
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Field Guide in a 5* lodge environment at reputable properties
