About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Creditors Accountant to join our team in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cost management, particularly in the fruit export industry, and excellent Excel skills. They will be responsible for processing creditor invoices, ensuring accurate allocation of costs, and providing exceptional customer service to our creditors.
Key Responsibilities
- Process creditor invoices for consumables
- Verify estimates against actual costs incurred
- Check if actual costs exceed estimates, except where incident logs indicate “own” cost
- Register batches for processing
- Input invoices into QX system
- Print/save cost capture reports and prepare remittances for payments
- Month-end reconciliation of each creditor before remittance packages are prepared for payment
- Ensure creditors receive their remittances and POP’s in a timely manner
- Handle Creditor queries and disputes
Requirements
- 1 year of cost management experience in the fruit export industry
- Advanced Excel skills, including V-lookups and Xlookup
- Ability to work accurately with figures and meet deadlines as set out by Manager
- Basic cost accounting skills
- Full understanding of contracted rates and terms with all service providers
Qualifications
- Diploma in Management Accounting or equivalent
- In-house and/or external training in supply chain processes, and their associated costs
