Key Responsibilities
- Set tables correctly with candles, plants/flowers, clean cutlery, and glasses.
- Remove dirty cutlery, crockery, ashtrays, bottles, and glasses from tables before guests are seated.
- Maintain a neat appearance and high standard of personal hygiene.
- Ensure the restaurant is always tidy.
- Offer drinks to guests once they’re seated.
- Take orders from guests, obtain and serve drinks.
- Repeat guests’ orders to ensure accuracy.
- Present food that’s plated according to guests’ orders.
- Present guests with their bill/payment and return correct change.
- Be present in and around the bar when not in service to help guests.
- Sign and hand slips to reception for filing.
- Account for every drink served using POS system or issue book.
- Post meals not included in guest accounts.
- Ensure fridges are well stocked and cleaned.
- Lay out cushions and take them in at night/if raining.
- Arrange self-service, salad, and buffet areas.
- Assist F&B managers/assistants with checking deliveries and unpacking deliveries.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- 1-2 years’ experience in front of house experience
- 2 years of customer service experience
