About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Auxiliary Worker to join our team at Girls and Boys Town South Africa. The purpose of this role is to provide supportive social services under the supervision of a Social Worker, with the aim of improving the well-being and social functioning of youth and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment and Admission: Participate in multi-disciplinary team assessments and screening processes for GBT; assess each youth using GBT assessment tools and models.
  • Intervention Process: Implement assigned tasks as they arise from the IDP in accordance with the Children’s Act and Minimum Standards.
  • Administration and General Duties: Ensure that documentation and process notes are available and easily accessible in each file; complete a monthly planning schedule, making it available to the Senior Social Worker.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Matric (Grade 12) qualification; Social Auxiliary Work qualification
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience of working with Youth
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the Children’s Act and Justice system

Qualifications

  • Registered with SACSSP with proof of current membership
