Job Description
- Lead the full lifecycle delivery of a major Solar PV & BESS infrastructure project
- Take full accountability for project cost, schedule, quality, safety, and commercial performance
- Chair the Project Steering Committee and manage executive stakeholder engagement
- Oversee EPC delivery across civil, electrical, mechanical, control, and communication disciplines
- Drive NEC contract management, commercial governance, and risk mitigation strategies
- Manage project financials including budgets, cash flow, forecasting, and P&L performance
- Provide executive-level reporting to Exco, Board members, and key stakeholders
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and ensure alignment across all delivery functions
- Manage client relationships, contractors, regulatory authorities, and community engagement
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and governance frameworks
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience managing large multidisciplinary EPC projects
- Proven success delivering Solar PV, BESS, or large infrastructure projects above R500 million
- Strong NEC contract management and commercial negotiation expertise
- Experience managing complex stakeholder and governance environments
- Strong understanding of renewable energy systems, grid integration, and infrastructure delivery
- Advanced commercial, financial, and risk management capability
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and crisis management skills
- Ability to lead high-performance engineering and project teams
- Willingness to travel and maintain site presence when required
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial)
- Postgraduate qualification in Project Management, Business Administration, or similar advantageous
- PMP, PrEng, or MBA advantageous
