About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Renewable Energy Engineer to join our team at Communicate Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) design, system configuration, sizing, and integration projects. They will work closely with our clients to deliver high-performing renewable energy systems that meet their needs and contribute to a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and configure solar PV and BESS systems
  • Conduct grid integration and power system studies to ensure connection requirements are met
  • Develop and implement energy modelling and system optimisation strategies to improve performance and efficiency
  • Provide technical leadership on renewable energy projects, including utility-scale and embedded generation projects
  • Collaborate with clients to develop operations and maintenance (O&M) strategies for their assets
  • Conduct power system analysis using ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory
  • Develop technical drawings and design documentation using AutoCAD

Requirements

  • Experience in solar PV and BESS design, including system configuration, sizing, and integration
  • Knowledge of grid integration and power system studies, including connection requirements and network performance
  • Experience in energy modelling and system optimisation to improve performance and efficiency
  • Strong project engineering and technical leadership experience across renewable energy developments
  • Understanding of operations and maintenance (O&M) strategies and asset performance management
  • Exposure to utility-scale and embedded generation projects, including C&I and IPP environments
  • Proficiency in PVSyst for solar PV system simulation and yield assessment
  • Experience using PVSol or Helioscope for PV design and performance modelling

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Energy, Mechatronic, or Mechanical Engineering (BEng or BSc)
  • ECSA registration will be advantageous
