About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team in Witbank, providing support to our Conveyancing Department and Deceased Estates administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Conveyancing Department
- Assist with Conveyancing matters and Deceased Estates administration
- Perform accurate Dictaphone typing and document transcription from Directors Draft
- Prepare, format, and manage legal documentation and correspondence
- Liaise with clients, banks, municipalities, and relevant stakeholders
- Open and maintain legal files and ensure accurate record keeping
- Schedule appointments, manage diaries, and coordinate meetings
- Capture and update information on Ghost Practice and Lexis systems
- Ensure all legal documentation is correctly filed and processed within required deadlines
- Attend to general legal secretarial and office administration duties
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Legal Secretary within a legal firm
- Exposure to Conveyancing processes
- Exposure to Deceased Estates administration
- Experience working on Ghost Practice and Lexis systems (advantageous)
- Dictaphone typing is essential
