We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst, with supply chain experience to join our team based in Cape Town. Initial 12-month contract, onsite. The Senior Business Analyst (Retail & Supply Chain) will play a pivotal role in analysing, designing, and optimizing business processes across retail operations, logistics, and supply chain functions. This individual will work closely with cross-functional stakeholdersincluding merchandising, procurement, distribution, IT, and financeto identify opportunities for improvement, define business requirements, and ensure successful delivery of initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. Key Responsibilities Business Analysis & Requirements Management Lead end-to-end business analysis for projects within the retail and supply chain domains. Conduct detailed requirements gathering through workshops, interviews, and data analysis. Translate business needs into clear, comprehensive business and functional requirement documents (BRDs/FRDs). Ensure traceability of requirements through the project lifecycle and manage changes effectively. Process Analysis & Improvement Map current (“as-is”) processes and design optimized (“to-be”) processes for retail operations, procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution. Identify inefficiencies and recommend data-driven solutions to improve speed, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. Work with business and IT teams to ensure new processes and systems align with strategic objectives. Stakeholder Management Collaborate with business owners, project managers, solution architects, and technical teams to ensure alignment and understanding of requirements. Facilitate workshops and presentations with senior business stakeholders to drive consensus and decision-making. Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users throughout the delivery lifecycle. Supply Chain: Procurement, inventory management, warehouse management systems (WMS), logistics, and order fulfillment. Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) is highly advantageous. Understanding of data-driven decision-making using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery methodologies. Qualifications & Experience Bachelors degree in business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or a related field (Honours preferred). Minimum 710 years experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 5 years in retail or supply chain environments . Proven track record of delivering end-to-end business analysis for system implementations or process improvement initiatives. Professional certification (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, Agile BA, or PMI-PBA) beneficial.

The Senior Business Analyst ensures alignment between business objectives and technical delivery, providing insight into risks, opportunities, and process improvements. What you’ll do: Document comprehensive Business Requirement Specifications (BRS) for various initiatives and solutions. Conduct interviews with key stakeholders across departments to understand business processes, needs, and challenges. Ensure effective communication with departmental units to clarify their responsibilities for project success. Present deliverables for playback to departmental units, task teams, and top management. Conduct playback sessions to validate analyses of past, present, and future business environments. Analyze business processes to identify problems, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with Systems Analysts, Project Managers, and technical teams to design and implement optimal automated solutions within tool constraints. Document requirements, including data modeling, interface layouts, data flows, screen designs, and report layouts. Your Expertise: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in roles such as Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, System Analyst, System Engineer, Quality Assurance, or Business Requirement Analysis. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently within cross-functional teams. Qualifications: Degree in Information Communication Technology (ICT) or related field, incorporating knowledge of Information Systems. Skills & Competencies: Expertise in requirement gathering, documentation, and business analysis methodologies. Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops, interviews, and presentations. Strong knowledge of process mapping, workflow analysis, and data modeling. Proficiency in tools such as: Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart (process mapping) JIRA or Azure DevOps (requirement tracking) Excel, Power BI, or similar (data analysis and reporting) Confluence or SharePoint (documentation and collaboration) Attention to detail, critical thinking, and a solution-oriented mindset.
