About the Role
We are seeking a professional Front Office Supervisor to join our esteemed 4-star hotel in Cape Town. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the Front Office Manager in supervising the day-to-day operations of our Concierge, Switchboard, and Guest Services/Front Desk teams. Your expertise in front office management and leadership skills will ensure an efficient end-to-end guest experience that aligns with our company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Front Office Manager in managing the day-to-day operations and the team ensuring the quality, standards, and meeting the expectations of the guest on a daily basis.
- Supervise all areas of the Front Office in the absence of the Front Office Manager.
- Address and resolve guest inquiries and complaints effectively.
- Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensures employees do the same within the team.
- Supervises daily Front Desk shift operations and ensures compliance with all policies, standards, and procedures.
- Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs and provide the necessary guidance.
- Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently, documentation is completed according to Standard and Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Brings issues concerning employee satisfaction to the attention of the department manager and Human Resources.
- Liaise with other departments (housekeeping, maintenance, etc.) to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Identify areas for improvement in guest services and front office operations.
- Monitor front desk operations to ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with guests and staff to foster a positive atmosphere.
- Maintain accurate records of room availability and reservations.
- Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accurate financial transactions.
Requirements
- Recognized Qualification in Hospitality Management or related field.
- At least 2 to 3 years proven experience in Front Office operations role with proven exposure to Supervisory or Assistant Management role in a 4 or 5-star property.
- Proficiency and Strong knowledge of hotel systems (e.g., Opera, PMS, Microsoft Office Suite).
- In-depth knowledge of Front Office policies and procedures.
- Professional, positive, confident, and calm demeanour with friendly attitude.
- Well-groomed and professional disposition.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism.
Qualifications
- Recognized Qualification in Hospitality Management or related field (e.g., Bachelor’s degree, LLB).
