About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Centurion: Solutions Architect to lead end-to-end solution architecture for assigned domains, translating business requirements into coherent solution designs that span process, application, integration, and data layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end solution architecture for assigned domains
- Translate business requirements and target architecture principles into coherent solution designs
- Produce high-level design artefacts including process flows, application interactions, API contracts, data flows, and integration patterns
- Partner with business stakeholders to shape solution options and translate operating model changes into system implications
- Ensure domain solutions align with API standards, event architecture, and security patterns
- Define service boundaries, validate integration approaches (sync vs async), and drive reuse of shared services
- Design workflow at solution level, ensuring decision logic is externalised and straight-through processing is viable
- Participate in design reviews, review vendor and squad solution outputs, and identify risks early
- Collaborate with peer architects to prevent siloed designs and maintain architectural coherence
Requirements
- 710 years of experience in solution design or architecture roles
- Experience delivering enterprise applications in financial services (insurance preferred)
- Strong understanding of API-based integration, process orchestration platforms, data modelling, and cloud-native environments
- Experience in transformation programmes and modernising legacy platforms in brownfield environments, including:
- Modular decomposition
- Strangler patterns
- Anti-corruption layers
- Transitional architectures
- Incremental migration strategies
