About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual mill and lathe operations, as well as experience with CNC machines. They will be responsible for producing high-quality parts and working collaboratively with other team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines, including drawing and developing 3D CAD designs using Fusion 360 or Inventor
- Perform post-processing tasks, such as tooling and finishing
- Design and select the correct tools for each job, taking into account size and RPM requirements
- Use a slotter to create keyways
- Utilize excellent hand skills and fitting experience to complete tasks efficiently
- Work on site from time to time, including performing hydraulic machining repairs and rigging operations
- Collaborate with other team members as the second most senior machinist, working closely with 3 fitters at a similar level
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Trade test certification in Fitter and Turner, Machinist, or Toolmaker (any relevant certification will be considered)
- Experience with manual mill and lathe operations, including large lathe experience
- Familiarity with CNC machines and post-processing tasks
- Ability to design and select tools for each job
- Excellent hand skills and fitting experience
Qualifications
- Formal education or certifications in a relevant field (if applicable)
