About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager (Electrical) to lead our underground mining electrical construction projects in Polokwane. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, construction management, and project coordination, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the mining industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement detailed electrical construction schedules and execution plans.
- Coordinate activities with engineering, procurement, and operational departments to ensure project milestones align with operational and production requirements.
- Oversee all underground electrical construction and installation activities, ensuring work is completed according to technical specifications, safety standards, and project requirements.
- Monitor project expenditure and maintain cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure the effective allocation of labour, tools, equipment, and electrical materials.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to enforce strict adherence to mine safety procedures and electrical regulations.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and inspection processes to ensure all electrical installations comply with engineering designs, standards, and statutory regulations.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in electrical construction management within the mining industry, preferably underground operations.
- Strong understanding of underground electrical systems, infrastructure installation, and mining construction practices.
- Experience working with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Sound knowledge of mine health and safety regulations and electrical compliance standards.
