About the Role
Hire Resolve is excited to present an opportunity for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join a multi-disciplinary consulting firm in Johannesburg. This individual will play a vital role in managing the cost and financial management of a variety of construction projects spanning multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting detailed cost estimates and generating bills of quantities for various construction projects.
- Preparing, managing, and negotiating project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
- Assessing project risks and developing cost-effective strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Assisting in procurement processes, including preparing tender documentation and evaluating submissions.
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to deliver outstanding project results.
- Monitoring project costs, preparing monthly reports detailing progress and identifying variances from the budget.
- Maintaining updated knowledge of construction contracts, materials, and market prices.
- Providing advice and support on contractual claims, variations, and final accounts.
- Ensuring all work complies with applicable regulations, standards, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a multi-disciplinary construction environment.
- Proficient in using estimation software, particularly WinQS and DimensionX.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, including JBCC, FIDIC, and NEC.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with clients and subcontractors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Professional registration with the SACQSP will be an advantage.
