About the Role
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, managing dealership relationships, and achieving revenue targets within an assigned region for a commercial truck dealership. This role involves developing sales strategies, coaching dealership sales teams, fostering customer relationships, and staying informed about industry trends to maximize market share.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies to meet or exceed sales quotas for new and used trucks, parts, and service.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor sales performance across dealerships and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dealership sales teams, providing training and support to improve performance.
- Work closely with fleet managers, leasing companies, and independent owner-operators to secure sales.
- Resolve customer concerns and ensure high satisfaction levels to drive repeat business.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including fleet sales, government contracts, and leasing partnerships.
- Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to expand market presence.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop targeted campaigns and promotions.
- Track and report on sales metrics, inventory levels, and market conditions.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and budget recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure CRM systems are updated with customer interactions and sales pipelines.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Experience: 5 years in truck sales, or commercial vehicle sales, with at least 2 years in managerial role.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of Class 6-8 trucks, financing options, and dealership operations.
- Skills: Proven leadership and team coaching abilities. Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills. Proficient in CRM software and MS Office.
