About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor specializing in Construction to join their team in Stellenbosch. In this role, you will assist senior quantity surveyors in managing costs and overseeing budget tracking for various construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Support in conducting quantity take-offs and measurements from construction drawings.
- Collaborate with project teams to monitor project costs and manage any discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts and change orders.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and negotiate prices.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contract specifications.
- Assist in identifying potential cost savings and risk factors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) with honors or Master’s degree (M.Sc) in Quantity Surveying.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Registered PrQS.
- Training and knowledge of contract management frameworks such as JBCC or similar.
- Familiarity with both pre- and post-contract administration.
- Demonstrated successful track record in the field.
- Possesses an innovative and forward-thinking approach.
