Job Description

Hire Resolve’s client is looking for Head of Production to join their team in Durban, KZN. The Head of Production is responsible for leading the multimedia production function across  both boards. Overseeing a multi disciplinary team of videographers, editors, and photographers. Operating within the internal agency, this role is critical in managing production operations, elevating content quality, and delivering creative output that fuels fan engagement and brand growth across all club-owned channels.

Responsibilities: 

Leadership & Team Management
Lead, manage, and inspire the multimedia production teams across videography,
photography, and editing functions.
Build and maintain a high-performing culture across content hubs in multiple cities
Set clear objectives, workflows, and development plans for all team members.
Balance day-to-day production demands with long-term creative planning and
innovation

Production Oversight & Delivery
Oversee all aspects of video and photo production from pre-production planning
to final delivery.
Manage production pipelines for live matchdays, training content, editorial shoots,
player campaigns, and partner activations.
Ensure efficient allocation of production resources (crew, gear, edit time) across
multiple concurrent projects.
Lead pre-production scoping on major projects, including timelines, formats, staffing,
and budgets.
Guarantee all content is delivered to brief, on time, and to platform and brand
standards.

Creative Direction & Quality Control
Collaborate with the Creative Director to develop the clubs visual identity across
video and photography.
Set quality benchmarks for all multimedia content and ensure consistency across
formats and franchises.
Provide hands-on feedback and guidance to editors, videographers, and
photographers to elevate execution.
Lead creative ideation and format development for new content strands across
Mens, Womens, Academy, and community arms.
Stay ahead of content and format trends (especially short-form video and cinematic
storytelling) and push the creative boundaries of the clubs output

Matchday & Live Content Leadership
Coordinate all production planning for matchdays across home and away fixtures,
including live capture, rapid editing, and delivery.
Ensure seamless collaboration between production and social teams to meet realtime content demands.
Implement systems and workflows that allow the team to deliver high-quality, fastturnaround content under pressure.

Commercial & Branded Content Support
Oversee production of content for sponsors and brand partners, ensuring creative
quality and contractual delivery.
Partner with commercial leads to bring branded content to life in a way that
balances sponsor goals with fan-first storytelling.
Ensure all commercial deliverables are integrated seamlessly into the production
pipeline.

Operations & Workflow
Develop and optimise post-production workflows, including file management, asset
storage, and version control.
Manage equipment inventory, licensing, and technical standards across cities.
Own freelance and third-party crew onboarding and management when needed.
Champion production efficiency while maintaining a commitment to creative
excellence.

Experience: 

Diploma/ Degree in a related field
6+ years of experience in video and photo production leadership ideally in sport,
entertainment, or media.
Proven track record leading teams of videographers, editors, and photographers.
Exceptional production planning, resource management, and timeline management
capabilities.
Deep understanding of sports content production, particularly in fast-paced, live
environments.
Strong creative vision paired with technical fluency across video formats, gear, and
editing platforms.
Excellent stakeholder management and ability to work cross-functionally with
creative, social, and commercial teams.
Proficient in production and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci
Resolve, Capture One, etc.
