About the Role

The Manager: Financial Markets Infrastructure Supervision role is a critical position that requires an experienced professional to lead the supervision of financial markets infrastructure (FMIs) and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing short-term goals, aligning teamwork and tasks with divisional objectives, and providing input into policy development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop short-term goals and align teamwork and tasks with divisional goals
  • Provide input into the development of policies and processes
  • Analyse, collate, and provide management information for planning and budgeting
  • Manage the delivery of work objectives of analysts through allocation and monitoring of work
  • Ensure FMIs adhere to principles for financial market infrastructures (PFMIs) and comply with minimum supervisory standards
  • Conduct relevant research to align with international best practice compliance and standards
  • Provide accurate and meaningful information for both domestic and international consumption
  • Represent the company in industry meetings and express the company’s case within given mandate and parameters

Requirements

  • A postgraduate degree (NQF 8) in Accounting, Economics, Finance or Risk Management
  • 10 years experience in the FMI sector or FMI policy environment
  • Two years experience in managing a team
  • Knowledge of and skills in:
  • Prudential Authority (PA) supervision, regulation, and legislation
  • Financial markets and instruments
  • Relevant policies and procedures
  • Research methodologies
  • PFMIs
  • Report writing
  • Problem-solving and analysis
  • Verbal and written communication
  • Interpersonal skills
