About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Professional Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Polokwane. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, project management, and cost control. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting feasibility studies and creating detailed initial budget estimates
- Preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and tender documents to determine material quantities and costs
- Advising on the best procurement methods, including risk and price certainty
- Monitoring project costs in real time, preparing cash flow projections, and reporting to clients to prevent budget overruns
- Evaluating progress payments and verifying the value of work completed against contract terms
- Assessing the financial impact of design changes or scope variations
- Visiting construction sites to verify work progress, compliance, and quality
- Determining the final cost of projects and settling accounts between clients and contractors
- Acting as a mediator or expert advisor on contractual disputes
- Identifying cost saving measures without sacrificing quality
Requirements
- University / University of Technology Degree (NQF Level 7) in Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 3 years working experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Registration as a Professional Quantity Surveyor with SACQSP
- Experience in Project Management will be an added advantage
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications in Quantity Surveying, such as a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
