About the Role
A leading international fertiliser and biostimulant organisation is seeking a knowledgeable, field-driven Agronomist to support both the sales team and customers with expert agronomic advice. This non-sales, field-based technical role focuses on optimising crop performance across a diverse range of row crops and high-value crops.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to sales representatives through regular on-farm visits (3–4 days per week)
- Deliver expert advice on crop nutrition and fertilisation strategies
- Interpret soil and plant tissue analysis results
- Develop customised fertilisation programmes
- Diagnose crop issues, including nutrient deficiencies and environmental stress factors
- Support the sales team with product knowledge and crop-specific training
- Assist in upskilling Technical Sales Representatives on agronomic best practices
- Ensure alignment between product positioning and practical application
- Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of field trials
- Evaluate trial results and provide data-driven recommendations
- Support product positioning through evidence-based results
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Agriculture, or a related field
- Minimum of 4–5 years’ practical, field-based agronomy experience
- Proven experience with row crops (maize, wheat, soybeans)
- Strong knowledge of soil science and plant nutrition
- Experience interpreting soil and plant tissue analyses
- Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel extensively
