About the Role
We are seeking reliable and trustworthy Bakery Counter Hands to join our team at an unspecified bakery in George. As a key member of our front-of-house staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve customers efficiently at the bakery counter
- Slice, pack, and label bakery products (bread, pastries, cakes, etc.)
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety
- Ensure displays are well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing
- Provide product knowledge and assist customers with their selections
- Handle basic transactions and operate POS systems where required
- Assist with stock rotation and control
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years relevant retail or FMCG experience (non-negotiable)
- Previous experience in a bakery or fresh foods environment is advantageous
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Good attention to detail and hygiene standards
