About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Senior Reservations & Travel Consultant to join our team at a collection of owner-operated Safari Camps and Safaris in Botswana, Namibia and South Africa based in Fourways. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing full reservation travel and sales services for our in-house and associated products, with the aim of securing business, promoting future growth, and delivering exceptional client experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer a personalised booking service for all bookings, whether directly or in a back-up role.
- Respond to trade enquiries efficiently and timeously.
- Communicate with clients, providing quick turnaround times and a professional service.
- Respond to all product queries or concerns relating to bookings.
- Provide availability and costs/quotes for bookings.
- Make reservations using TourPlan/TMIS.
- Manage booking status throughout the reservation process (quote, cancelled, provisional, confirmed, and invoiced).
- Obtain and capture guest CRM and booking information onto TourPlan for camps.
- Liaise with Product Management to ensure best possible services to guests in respect of guest information and requirements.
- Provide lodge information and relating documentation to clients where appropriate (WETU itineraries/pre-tour & departure information).
- Manage yield to ensure maximised occupancy and rate achieved.
- Convert sales by offering excellent response times, providing alternative dates/products, offering approved discounts where budget is a constraint.
- Gain knowledge of all products to add value to clients.
- Standby and emergency duty will be on a rotational basis, including after hours.
Requirements
- Matric Certificate.
- Tertiary certificate in travel-related field (desirable).
- At least 3-5 years relevant experience in a similar environment.
- Fluent in speaking and writing in the English language.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and support different teams when needed.
- Ability to work fast and accurately.
- Service and detail-oriented.
- Shows empathy, care, and understanding when dealing with clients.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Willingness/ability to share information.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Sales-driven.
- IT savvy.
- Self-motivated and driven by the company values.
