About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sous Chef to join our team at a luxurious five-star property in the heart of Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional food quality and presentation while maintaining high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to exacting standards
- Assist Head Chef with menu planning and kitchen operations
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients and supplies
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff as required
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel
- Strong knowledge of classical cuisine and menu planning
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Qualifications
- Formal education in culinary arts or equivalent (e.g. Baking and Pastry Arts, Hotel Management)
