About the Role
A well-established company in Germiston is seeking a Receiving Clerk to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in a warehouse or logistics environment. As a Receiving Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate receipt and storage of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspecting Shipments: Unload trucks and inspect goods for damage or defects upon arrival.
- Verification: Compare received items against purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips.
- Inventory Tracking: Log incoming items into inventory software and update inventory records accurately.
- Storage & Organization: Organize incoming stock and place items in designated storage areas.
- Discrepancy Reporting: Report missing items, damages, or shipping errors to management and vendors.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean work environment, adhere to safety regulations, and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Documentation: Process return shipments and manage related paperwork.
- Coordination: Act as a liaison between vendors and internal inventory teams.
- Housekeeping: Maintain safety standards in the receiving area.
Requirements
- Matric
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or receiving environment is preferred
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, basic mathematical skills, and attention to detail
Qualifications
- Forklift operation certification is often preferred
