About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Pretoria. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing work estimates by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. You will also collaborate with industry experts, engineers, architects, owners, and contractors to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues
- Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time and raw material, equipment, and labour expenses
- Travel to job sites to gather information on materials needed, labour requirements, and other factors
- Read blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on estimates
- Use sophisticated computer software to calculate estimates
- Evaluate a product’s cost effectiveness or profitability
- Recommend ways to make a product more cost effective or profitable
- Prepare estimates for clients and other business managers
- Develop project plans for the duration of the project
Requirements
- Must have experience as an administrator, craftsperson, technician or surveying assistant in the same industry
- Must have system integration estimating experience
- Must have electrical and Instrumentation panel building estimating experience
- Must have previous mining and heavy industry estimating experience
- Must have a driver’s licence
Qualifications
NQF7/B Tech/B Eng/ Electrical or Instrumentation Technical/ Trade Qualification. Voluntary certification and experience in the field.
