About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Technologist with expertise in bacterial laboratory plant pathology to join our team at Roodeplaat, Pretoria. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for detecting bacterial pathogens in crops and conducting various microbiological tests. Key Responsibilities
- Detection of bacterial pathogens in crops
- Conduct PCR, ELISA, and microbiological assays
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 quality systems
- Supervise laboratory assistants and support staff
- Maintain laboratory equipment and testing records
- Participate in proficiency and inter-laboratory testing
- Authorise and interpret laboratory test results
Requirements
- SAQA recognised tertiary qualification in Plant Pathology (preferred), Microbiology, Biochemistry or related field
- Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory
- Experience with PCR diagnostics, ELISA, and microbiological testing

Salary & Benefits
R480 960 CTC per annum during probation, R534 400 CTC upon successful completion of probation.
