About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Livestock Manager to join our team at Farm Manager SA, responsible for managing a large herd of extensive beef cattle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in livestock management and a passion for delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement breeding and reproduction strategies.
  • Implement breeding season, bull management, pregnancy diagnosis, calf supervision, weaning strategy, and herd productivity monitoring.
  • Manage rotational grazing systems with allied supplementation rations produced and formulated on site.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including budgets and accounts.
  • Supervise and train staff.
  • Monitor and control diseases, parasites, and vaccinations in the herd.

Requirements

  • Agricultural Diploma / Degree
  • Experienced management of a large herd of extensive beef cattle (600 breeding cows and followers)
  • Well versed in all aspects of herd health and welfare
