About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Livestock Manager to join our team at Farm Manager SA, responsible for managing a large herd of extensive beef cattle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in livestock management and a passion for delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement breeding and reproduction strategies.
- Implement breeding season, bull management, pregnancy diagnosis, calf supervision, weaning strategy, and herd productivity monitoring.
- Manage rotational grazing systems with allied supplementation rations produced and formulated on site.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including budgets and accounts.
- Supervise and train staff.
- Monitor and control diseases, parasites, and vaccinations in the herd.
Requirements
- Agricultural Diploma / Degree
- Experienced management of a large herd of extensive beef cattle (600 breeding cows and followers)
- Well versed in all aspects of herd health and welfare
