About the Role

Our client is seeking a Junior Software & Systems Developer to join a dynamic consulting-style development team working on real-world projects and data problems. As a hands-on role, you will work closely with senior engineers, gaining exposure to software development, data systems, interfaces, and system maintenance. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who want to understand how systems work end-to-end, contribute meaningfully, and build a strong foundation for a long-term career in information technology.

Key Responsibilities

Build web interfaces and backend functionality
Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability
Work alongside senior engineers on real-world projects
Debug, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems
Collaborate with developers, analysts, and project managers in a team environment

Requirements

Minimum 2 years experience in software development or data engineering
Strong SQL and database management skills
Experience with at least one backend language (Python preferred)
Experience with at least one frontend language (JavaScript preferred)
Exposure to web interfaces (JavaScript frameworks)
Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Honours degree (advantageous)
