About the Role
The Legal, Risk & Compliance Officer will play a critical role in ensuring our client operates within all South African and international legal frameworks. This position bridges the gap between complex property/financial regulations and agile software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate SaaS, NDA, and commercial agreements
- Provide day-to-day legal advice and manage external counsel
- Identify and quantify business risks
- Conduct audits of software products and implement mitigation strategies
- Monitor adherence to PASA, NCR, PPRA, and GDPR
- Manage regulatory submissions and staff training
- Interpret new laws (including AI legislation) and report on their impact on our client’s operations
Requirements
- LLB Degree (Admitted Attorney or Advocate with a valid certificate)
- 5 Years PAE in legal, risk, and compliance roles
- Regulatory Expertise: Deep knowledge of POPIA, GDPR, FICA, NCA, and the EU AI Act
- Sector Knowledge: Experience with SA regulators (SARB, FIC, PPRA, CSOS)
