About the Role
Fokus Personnel is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in Bloemfontein. As a Laboratory Technician in Animal Production, you will play a vital role in supporting our animal breeding program through laboratory and farm-based activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement artificial insemination (AI) procedures and reproductive support
- Conduct heat detection (estrus monitoring)
- Handle and manage semen, including storage, thawing, and nitrogen tank management
- Administer laboratory tasks such as invoicing, record keeping, and reporting
- Provide excellent client communication and relationship management
- Maintain biosecurity, hygiene, and facility maintenance standards
- Assist with marketing support and field assistance
Requirements
- BSc Degree in Animal Science, Animal Health, Genetics or related field
- AI certification or experience
- Knowledge of bovine reproductive anatomy
