About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly organised, detail-driven Bookkeeper & Admin Assistant to join a growing family office based in Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a structured yet dynamic environment and enjoys working across multiple entities within a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities
- Full bookkeeping and monthly reporting using Xero
- Load payments, reconcile invoices, and process receipts, deposits, and refunds
- Bank reconciliations and transaction flow management across multiple entities
- Prepare and post journals, including monthly interest journals and loan structures
- Upload and manage bank statements across entities
- Prepare weekly payables and receivables reports for management review
- Assist with statutory and SARS-related correspondence
- Manage residential property expenses
- Support audit preparation and coordination
- Maintain inventory, asset registers, and insurance documentation across entities
- Present monthly accounting reports in a structured format
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in bookkeeping or finance role
- Strong proficiency in Xero
- Advanced Excel skills
- Solid understanding of South African tax, VAT, and SARS eFiling
- Experience with multi-entity bookkeeping and intercompany transactions
- Knowledge of accounting fundamentals including debits, credits, trial balance, and management accounts
- Experience with creditors and debtors age analysis
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
