About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join our team in Menlyn, South Africa. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features, ensuring the application’s performance, quality, scalability, and responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
  • Ensure application performance, quality, scalability, and responsiveness
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests
  • Participate in code and peer reviews to uphold development standards
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines
  • Work closely with DevOps and Cloud teams to deploy and manage applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and production issues
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
  • Support Agile ceremonies in line with the Agile Working Model (AWM)

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Java and frameworks such as Java EE, Hibernate
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • Experience building scalable, high-performance systems
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Git and version control best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Java software development
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions
