About the Role

We are seeking a creative and hands-on Head Chef to join our luxury lodge in Vaalwater, Limpopo, as we prepare for our pre-opening phase. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading kitchen operations, designing innovative menus, and ensuring exceptional guest dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small kitchen team (5–7 staff)

• Oversee all kitchen operations and ensure smooth service delivery

• Take a fully hands-on approach in daily kitchen execution

• Design innovative, seasonal and modern menus

• Maintain consistently high 5-star culinary standards

• Align food offering with luxury lodge concept and guest experience

• Manage food cost control and budgeting

• Oversee ordering, stock management and supplier coordination

• Minimise waste and maintain operational efficiency

• Ensure strict hygiene, safety and HACCP standards are maintained

• Uphold all kitchen compliance and operational standards

• Maintain clean, structured and efficient kitchen operations

Requirements

• Minimum 5-star lodge or boutique hotel experience essential

• Strong leadership experience managing small kitchen teams (5–7 staff)

• Highly creative and innovative culinary approach

• Hands-on, energetic and driven personality

• Strong understanding of sustainability and farm-to-table concepts

• Ability to perform in a pre-opening environment

• Valid driver’s licence essential
