About the Role

AtripleA Recruitment and Temps is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Engineer Foreman to join our client’s construction and engineering team in South Africa. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring standard procedures are adhered to, preparing detailed short-term project schedules, and fostering relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring standard procedures are adhered to and any specific client requirements are taken into account.
  • Preparing detailed short-term project schedules.
  • Fostering relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Material procurement.
  • Productivity and cost monitoring.
  • Successfully managing a Section or Sections of work within cost allowable.
  • Ensuring that quality of work and materials comply to specifications.
  • Producing quality construction programmes for section/s.
  • Work to be completed within required time frames.
  • Inspiring team members to achieve high levels of production.
  • Building good relations with employees and relevant role players.
  • Cooperating well with peers and subordinates.
  • Professional conduct at all times.
  • Providing constructive support to company initiatives.
  • Reviewing work and ensure corrective action when required.
  • Resources to be procured correctly and on time.
  • Implementing improvements and demonstrating initiative.
  • Consistently complying with all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance to Safety, Health & Environmental Regulations.
  • Ensuring best practices in construction methods.

Requirements

  • BSc/B Eng./B-Tech/National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Engineer in the Construction Industry.
  • Registration with ECSA and/or SACPCMP will be an advantage.
  • Must have Experience in Roads & Earthworks and Civil Infrastructure Construction.
  • Experience in Wind Farm Construction will be an advantage.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the OHS ACT, and Construction Regulations.
  • Must have the Ability to read, understand and organize construction Plans and Specifications.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in taking quantities off drawings site measurement for certificate purposes.
  • Must be able to order material required on site off the drawings.
  • Must have a working knowledge of CCS estimating and planning modules.
  • Must have Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, & Outlook).
  • Specific working knowledge of COLTO specifications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various general conditions of contract.
