About the Role
The VKB Group, an agricultural company, is seeking a Silo Operator to join our team at the Maluti Depot in Bethlehem. As a key member of our Quality Control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety compliance and quality control throughout the processing and storage of grain products.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor flow of grain continuously
- Perform Quality Control during storage and processing of products
- Correctly stack Simba maize and maintain stack cards
- Continuously protect grain through fumigation as determined by supervisor
- Monitor grain tube temperature and report deviation to superior
- Measure grain tubes according to policy and safety regulations
- Assist with monthly food safety inspections as needed
- Operate silo according to VKB Group policy and regulations
- Provide general assistance and AD-Hoc tasks as required
- Ensure compliance with safety standards
Requirements
- Grade 12 or NQF 4
- Certificate in grain grading and grain fumigation (advantageous)
- Valid driver’s license for tractor / Front-end Loader (advantageous)
- Willingness to work overtime and shifts
- Clear Criminal Record
- Experience in a similar environment (advantageous)
