About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to join our family-owned farm in Clarens as part of our Artisan Farm To Table Bistro. As Cheese Monger & Deli Head Chef, you will be responsible for managing, planning, and coordinating kitchen operations, inspiring innovation, and creating exciting dishes using our farm’s homemade items.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, plan, and coordinate kitchen operations
- Inspire, innovate, and engineer exciting dishes
- Run and facilitate service
- Deal with suppliers and utilize all farm-made items
- Maintain knowledge of cheese production, charcuterie, sour dough baking, and farm-to-table cuisine
Requirements
- Recognised Cheffing Qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within a head chef position in a similar Artisan Bistro-type operation
- Excellent all-round knowledge of cheeses & charcuterie and the production process
- Ability to engineer and create menus with daily changing specials
- Friendly and outgoing personality with excellent communication skills
