About the Role
The Product Line Manager: Drilling and Bolting role is a permanent position that requires an experienced professional to lead the product line management for drilling and bolting products in South Africa and Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, developing market strategies, and ensuring the successful participation of tenders linked to current and future projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage, collaborate, and align with relevant project teams from identified mining houses, EPCs (Engineering, Planning and Construction) and EPCMs (Engineering, Planning, Construction and Execution)
* Ensure customer projects teams are aware of the company’s offerings and solution through high-level presentations and discussions supported by internal support
* Participate in tenders linked to current and future projects issued by mining houses and EPCs & EPCMs
* Be the main point of contact for all matters related to projects and tenders linked to identified project-related customers
* Conduct regular product presentations to key customers
* Ensure effective relationship building with each customer driving high-level engagement ensuring strong collaboration together with the company
* Attend industry events, conferences, networking meetings, and other external opportunities
* Travel cross-border and internationally when required to visit relevant customer project sites supported by internal teams if required
* Maintain a pipeline of all project activities and progress within Africa and South Africa, reporting and presenting data to internal teams, management, external partners, and directly with OEMs
* Involve Product Line Managers, Business Development Managers, and Business Developers in relevant projects/tenders and establishing internal project teams for successful participation
* Communicate potential project probabilities with relevant PLMs to ensure effective forecast where required
* Set strategic direction for each project and define and implement plans to meet business and financial objectives
* Establish strategic project meetings internally to discuss and share all relevant information linked to projects per region, sharing relevant contacts and discussing/action plans going forward
* Collaborate with Capital Office Manager to ensure successful submission of tenders and proposals
* Ensure successful proposal submissions to all relevant tenders with support from PLMs and Capital Sales Manager and Capital Office Manager
* Oversee the entire life cycle of a project from conception through to its execution, finalization phase in conjunction with customer expectations
* Responsible for annual targets linked to set project revenue
* Conduct market research to identify customer needs and project opportunities
* Monitor and analyze market trends and competitors to adjust strategies as needed
* Coordinate across various departments like sales, production, finance, after-market, technical, and life cycle support to ensure successful launch and sustainability of each adjudicated tender/project
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years proven business development experience
* Post-Graduate qualifications an advantage
* Valid drivers license is required
* Valid passport
* MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word Basic
* Medically fit for underground visits
* Proven technical background within the underground mining environment
* Experience in market analysis
* Familiarity with product marketing tactics
* Strong project management skills
* Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong problem-solving abilities
