About the Role
The Vineyard Hotel is seeking a motivated Junior AC & Refrigeration Technician to join our Maintenance team in Newlands, Cape Town. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing air-conditioning and refrigeration systems to ensure guest comfort and smooth hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Troubleshoot basic faults and carry out repairs under supervision
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning filters and coils, and checking system performance
- Help service refrigeration units, cold rooms, and freezer systems
- Assist with inspections of equipment, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and fans
- Respond to maintenance requests in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas
- Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance tasks
- Provide general maintenance support to the team when required
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) Certification
- Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related technical field (or currently studying towards one)
- Up to 2 years experience (practical training, apprenticeships, or internships will be considered)
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications in HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related technical field
