About the Role
Sagen Advisory Recruitment Company is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Financial Manager for a permanent half-day position based in Claremont. This role is responsible for the full accounting function, reporting directly to the COO. The ideal candidate will manage everything from daily processing and payroll to the preparation of monthly management reports and legislative compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly accounting and processing, including daily bank and system reconciliations.
- Execute full payroll processing via SimplePay.
- Handle all SARS returns, including VAT, PAYE, and provisional tax.
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and detailed billing reports.
- Oversight of creditors management, investment controls, and trust account reconciliations.
- Assist with annual budget preparation and coordinate information for yearly audits.
- Maintain the integrity of the financial data and assist with B-BBEE verification data.
- Provide financial insights and assistance with reconciliations as required by the COO.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bookkeeping or Accounting qualification.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar accounting or financial management role.
- Previous experience within a legal environment or professional services firm is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in Xero, SimplePay, and legal practice management software (e.g., Clio) is preferred.
- Proven experience in e-Filing and corporate tax submissions.
