About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team in Muizenberg, Cape Town. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing cost accounting, BOMs, and stock control, while working closely with production, technical, and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update Bill of Materials (BOMs)
- Monitor and adjust costs based on supplier price changes
- Work closely with production, technical, and finance teams
- Perform stock and inventory-related tasks
- Assist with costing and financial reporting
- Compile Excel reports (pivot tables, formulas, graphs)
Requirements
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (non-negotiable)
- Strong knowledge of BOM (Bill of Materials) and stock control
- Experience with job costing (average cost)
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, reporting)
- Understanding of accounts payable/receivable
- Experience on Pastel Partner (advantageous)
- Relevant accounting/finance qualification (advantageous)
